Padel Scoreboard

Padel Court Dimensions and Layout (Doubles and Singles)

Official padel court dimensions: 20 m × 10 m, net height, service line, wall and fence heights, singles court size, plus the size in feet.

A padel court is smaller than a tennis court and enclosed by walls, which is what makes the game so different. Whether you're planning a club, building a private court or just curious, here are the official measurements from the International Padel Federation (FIP).

All measurements are internal dimensions, measured from the inside of the walls.

Singles court

Singles padel uses a narrower court: 20 m × 6 m. These courts are less common, but singles can also be played on a full doubles court as a fun variation.

Space you need around a court

Plan for an area of roughly 21 m × 11 m to allow for the wall structure and a walkway, and a clear ceiling height of at least 6 m for indoor courts (higher is better for lobs). Check local building rules and the requirements of your federation if you plan to host competitions.

Surface

Most courts use artificial grass with sand infill, which gives a consistent bounce and good grip. Some indoor courts use acrylic or synthetic surfaces.

How padel compares to other courts

SportDoubles court size
Padel20 × 10 m
Tennis23.77 × 10.97 m (plus run-off)
Pickleball13.41 × 6.10 m (44 × 20 ft)

A tennis court with its run-off area can often fit two or three padel courts, which is why many tennis clubs are converting.
